(BY SLOBODAN DESPOT [VIA ANTIPRESSE])
As the US administration launches a new initiative on Kosovo, the indictment of Hashim Thaçi put the whole process on hold. But it also recalls the absolute disaster that was nato's confiscation of the southern province of Serbia. Late punishment of an executioner or tactical coup?
It
is an event that is rarely commemorated in the west, and barely
remembered: from March to June 1999, for 78 days NATO intensely bombed
Serbia because of a so-called "repression" of the Albanian population of
its southern province, Kosovo. After
the signing of the Kumanovo Agreements on 12 June 1999, Kosovo came
under the control of the international community (read NATO), while
supposedly remaining an integral part of Serbia. As the attempt to occupy the province from Albania failed, the Serbs had been coaxed to the negotiating table.
Paper promises and cascading fake news
But this diplomatic concession was merelya
rag of paper: despite a United Nations resolution (No. 1244) affirming
Serbia's sovereignty, the allies and "partners" of the Albanian
separatists - read NATO - began to recognize the "independent" state of
Kosovo as soon as Mr. Thaçi and his clan unilaterally proclaimed their
independence. Strangely, Switzerland, supposedly
virtuous and neutral, at the time of its Foreign Minister Micheline
Calmy-Rey, was among the states most eager to recognize this territorial
entity. Perhaps this was a way of easing the
pressure of the Americans at the time of the so-called disinherited
funds affair by serving as a pilot fish? (1)
In
order to make the world swallow such a series of violations of the law,
it was literally necessary to brainwash him by painting the Serbs as
Nazis and all Albanians, indiscriminately, as their victims. What made everything fall through the cracks
- both the crimes of the Albanians against the Serbs and the subsequent fate of all minorities as well as Albanians loyal to the Serbian state.
The rest is a long nightmare for Serbs, but also for Montenegrins, Gypsies and other minorities present in Kosovo. The anti-spam pogrom of March 2004, under the noses of Western "peace soldiers", was particularly massive and brutal. In total, some 250,000 Serbs were exiled from the province, while a thousand disappeared without trace or were murdered. Without
the intervention of the French paratroopers commanded by Colonel
Jacques Hogard, the Serb-majority region of Mitrovica (north of the Ibar
River) would have been ethnically cleaned up from the first days of the
ceasefire. South of this line, the remaining
100,000 Serbs live in precarious pockets, victims of perpetual
harassment (which in recent weeks has seen an upsurge).
Culturally, 150 churches were destroyed, while 800 mosques were built or rebuilt in their place. The icing on the cake, the new Albanian state has proposed to appropriate the Christian monuments still standing by linking them to its national heritage.
The promise of restoring security and justice - the main argument of the Western occupation - was also paper. Kidnappings, intimidation and expropriations continue. The
2010 investigation by Swiss magistrate Dick Marty into the trafficking
of human organs (often taken from the ground up) in Kosovo led to
damning conclusions for the local government - but not surprising, since
the former Prosecutor of the International Tribunal for the Former
Yugoslavia (ICTY), Carla del Ponte, mentioned this trafficking as early
as 2008 in her memoirs. Strangely, as in Sleeping Beauty, the Council of Europe, to whom it was intended, fell asleep on it.
Moreover,
the few attempts to try senior Kosovar officials and ex-terrorists such
as the "prime minister" and former nightclub bouncer in Switzerland,
Ramush Haradinaj, have been short-lived - by physical disappearance of
witnesses! Little wonder when you consider that Haradinaj was physically protected by the U.S. Army!
The only state that is "de-recognized"
Such astate
caricature, which is also a hub of drug and arms trafficking in Europe,
had no future and could only be a diplomatic headache. The
international recognition of Kosovo has been very partial, and even
regressive: a rarity, some fifteen countries have withdrawn their
recognition. At the moment, 92 states in the world recognize Kosovo, 96 do not recognize it. Among these, all the powers escaping the tutelage of the Atlantic Empire: Russia, China, India, Brazil, Algeria, Iran... That's the five-sevenths of humanity. A
proportion that alone demonstrates the unreality of the "international
community", a concept imposed by NATO when it claimed to make decisions
on behalf of the whole Earth.
The only country whose recognition of Kosovo is still interesting and necessary today remains... Serbia! Only
this recognition could legalize the blatant violation of international
law that constitutes the existence of the State of Kosovo. It is therefore a precondition for Serbia's accession to the.
The
most "deserving" protagonist for this grotesque situation, in the local
team, is none other than Hashim Thaçi, former head of the organization
U-K (labelled terrorist in 1998 by the USA itself), former Prime
Minister and current president of the hypothetical entity. His
sudden indictment by the ICTY on 24 June for "crimes against humanity
and war crimes, including murder, enforced disappearance of persons,
persecution and torture" is a surprise with interesting ramifications. If,
as the press announces, Thaçi is "caught up in his past", it is a past
rich in friendships and protections at the heart of democracies. Did
he not attend the Victory celebrations on 11 November 2018, the second
highest guest of honour of Emmanuel Macron, while the Serbian president
(yet representing a friendly people who made a significant contribution
to the victory) was relegated to a side stand ?
It
is a far cry from his arrest, and even further from a conviction, but
the very decision to issue the indictment just days before a "historic"
Serbo-Kosovar negotiation initiated by the Trump administration forces
us to question the real purpose of this coup.
Why now?
From
its beginnings, the ICT is a wanted and sponsored organization by the
United States, which otherwise does not recognize its authority over its
own soldiers. For example, the ICT has not even
considered charging NATO airmen for the deliberate killing of civilians
(including Albanians) during the 1999 bombings. When
she accepted the position of prosecutor, Switzerland's Carla del Ponte
told the NZZ that she had "nothing to refuse" the Americans.
We know that in the eyes of the Americans, the allies are just consumables. One hundred potentates, including Noriega, Saddam Hussein, and even Milosevic, know something about it. (The
latter, whom I knew, had worked as a banker in the United States and
had received "assurances" from Washington, particularly at the time of
the Dayton Accords, about his role as a pivot and peacemaker in the
Balkans. It was swept away in 2000 by the Otpor movement, a prototype of the colorful revolutions.)
For theEmpire, or at least its "deep state" wing, Thaçi's indictment could be a double bargain. On the one hand, we get rid of a strong arm that no longer serves. On
the other hand, an initiative from the Trump team is scuttled - thus
depriving the redhead of a possible North Korean-style diplomatic
victory. A few months before the U.S. elections, we've seen it in recent days, all blows are allowed.
Hashim Thaçi, of course, will not be so easy to do. He
will not fall without a fight - and he trumpets it: on his Facebook
profile, he has just spread the weapons of the KLA, red on a black
background. Who did he not have his picture taken with, in his terrorist lattice or, later, his anthracite costume of the right house? Madeleine Albright, Bernard Kouchner, Alain Juppé, not to mention the cream of NATO generals. And then, of course, President Macron® who does not miss one - but which can be credited in this case with ignorance. He was only 22 years old at the time of the Kosovo war.
The Yankees are immune to these kinds of compromises. They don't even recognize the courses they teach. Europeans are more sensitive to it. For the past ten years, the terrible Marty report to the Council of Europe has pointed the finger at their inaction. Over
the past twenty years, their statements in the press, their embraces
with criminals and their forums - as well as their unbridled anti-spam
propaganda, a veritable anthology of fake news- have built the career of the man who is now beingsingled out for "murder, enforced disappearance of persons, persecution and torture". On
7 May 1999, in the midst of the bombardment of Serbia, the usual
"humanitarian" roster- including Professor Paul Garde, author of a book
considered "reference" on Yugoslavia, published in Le Monde a petition urging the West to further support the KLA. So to dump even more bombs on the populations concerned. "The KLA has the merit of existing," they wrote. Unveiling a scale of merit on which the courts could once question them. Let us rest assured that Mr. Thaçi will not forget to invite his old friends to the ceremony. Unless, of course, he is "epsteinized" in his cell.
Note
- In any case, there are helps that are not forgotten. Ms. Calmy-Rey now chairs a humanitarian foundation created by the Kosovar Orllati, a public works group known for its meteoric growth in French-speaking Switzerland.
A little reading
- about this "school case" of disinformation (according to the late connoisseur Vladimir Volkoff), that was the Yugoslav civil war and in particular the "Kosovo" phase, some useful, if not indispensable, readings:
- Jacques Hogard, Europe died in Pristina, Hugo and Co.
- Jacques Merlino, Yugoslav truths are not all good to say, Albin Michel.
- Nikola Mirkovic, The Martyrdom of Kosovo, foreword by Jean-Louis Tremblais, Editions Jean Picollec.
- Pierre Péan, Kosovo, a "just" war for a mafia state,Fayard.
- Carla del Ponte, The Hunt, war criminals and me,Héloïse d'Ormesson.
Two questions to Colonel Jacques Hogard
In a short and captivating book,Jacques Hogard recounted his fateful twelve days in Kosovo "pacified" by NATO in June 1999. He does not mince his words about the "Snake" of the KLA and its allies.
Will the "president" of the very puppet "Republic of Kosovo" really end up in prison? And what corpses might, on this occasion, come out of the closet?
JH: Grief spirits want to bet that its powerful protectors, networks linked
- the Clinton administration, will get him out of this bad step, so much hoped for since
21
years by Serbs, Roma, Goranis and even Kosovo Albanians, victims of his
savagery and that of his KLA accomplices: the Ramush Haradinaj, Agim
Ceku, Fatmir Limaj, Rexhep Rexhepi, Samir Lushtaku... Etc.
Yet
this time it could well be the final fall of this ruthless gangster
who, coming from a Kosovar mafia clan with a sad reputation, suddenly
emerges in 1999 during the "negotiations of Rambouillet", propelled onto
the political scene by the old witch Madeleine Albright, this evil muse
of the Clinton tribe, who takes love for this little thug and then sees
him a "national destiny". The head of the KLA,
the godfather of organised crime in Kosovo and the abominable
trafficking of organs, already dubbed "the snake", ruthlessly
eliminating Kosovo Albanians loyal to Belgrade or simply pacifists, such
as his LDK rivals, will play a prominent role in 1999 and in the years
that follow, alternating the functions of "prime minister," "head of
diplomacy" (!) and "president" at the head of the bunch of thugs who are
called "Government of the Republic of Kosovo."
This
time, however, it could well be the final fall of the "Snake" because
the file is tied, complete, with all the evidence, all the testimonies:
yes, Hashim Thaçi is indeed a barbaric criminal who commits crimes
against humanity and war crimes, perpetrated indiscriminately against
all those who opposed his plans.
Four years ago, I was told by a French magistrate that the case was closed. Thaçi's, but also the KLA and their foreign backers.
It
would not surprise me that the time that has elapsed since, precisely
these four years, which seemed to me long and sometimes doubtful, I
admit, was in fact that of reflection for the latter and that they have
consequently decided to let go of it at last, in order to sort of clear
themselves.
I
bet it: all those who, like Pope Francis, President Macron, Nicolas
Sarkozy, Alain Juppé, Bernard Kouchner and many other officials, notably
from NATO and the European Union, have given him a warm welcome in the
recent past, will prefer in the months and years to come to turn his
back on him with superb!
